Occam's Remedy APR

Occam's Remedy APR Limited is an independent private company, owned and managed by its directors. The company was established to acquire illiquid and unwanted investments on a commercial basis and also provide a remedy to the problem of such assets held in pension schemes and investment bonds.

The business was launched following five years of discussions and consultation with UK and international pension providers and financial advisers. These parties were seeking a resolution to the issues and costs to clients holding "Non-Standard" and illiquid investments, and the seemingly intractable inability to dispose of these unwanted assets.

The directors have considerable experience in investments, registration, and UK and international pensions.

Gary Draper
Director

Gary has been at the forefront of international trust and retirement schemes for approaching 40 years. He was one of the first in the off-shore financial services industry in 1985, and worked at a senior level in the International Divisions of both of Eagle Star and Zurich Life. He has a vast experience gained from these international roles, and through long term relationships with UK and international financial services distribution firms.

He developed the earliest section 615(6) international pensions schemes, and having recognised the opportunities for these, he established s615(6) Limited and, more recently, Lakeside House Limited to create, promote and administer s615(6) retirement benefit schemes. Although new section 615(6) schemes ceased in 2017, he continues to administer a large number of pre-existing schemes.

Gary was also a founding partner and early board adviser of Platform One Group, particularly assisting with the international and global platform services and overseas distribution.

Michael Fordham
Director

Michael has established several successful investment systems and administration businesses and has played a key role in a number of high-profile developments in the UK investment market from the 1980's to date.

He was involved in many of the early fund supermarkets and Wrap platforms and was a founder of the first IFA Wrap platform, Ascentric. Before this, he founded the investment systems and administration business, Northumberland Group, in 1982 and grew it until its sale to Banque Generale du Luxembourg in 1991.

In 2010 he started Platform One Group and since 2017 he has been a director of LCT Pensions, a SSAS pensions business.

He was a joint founder of Investment Sciences Ltd in 2001 and his career has included senior positions with Cap Gemini, and Interactive Investor and WAY Group.
